The collaboration between Mercedes-Benz Spain, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and Endesa will result in a new network load semi-fast in Ibiza and the presentation of the new model smart Ushuaïa 2018. The first two charging points are already in place.
Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel will offer in 2018 to their customers a rental fleet to 100% electric of the new model. The agreement includes the installation of a network of charging points semi fast to 22kW, situated at strategic locations to allow for travel around the island aboard an electric car.
To so pilot has been operating a small fleet of smart electric on the basis of model smart Ushuaïa 2017 that already roam the island.
This agreement is a continuation of the alliance announced by Endesa and smart at the beginning of march to promote electric mobility, breaking down barriers of entry and get the public to join the movement of zero emissions. This alliance is based on three pillars: marketing models smart electric retail customers with the Endesa charging infrastructure; fee-exclusive (Tempo Zero Smart), which Endesa has designed for the customers smart; and an agreement for collaboration in the deployment of a recharging network for public access and will have its premier in 2018.
The opening ceremony of the charging points, is already operational, took place on the 28th of September, and counted with the presence of Reiner Hoeps, President of Mercedes-Benz Spain, Abel Matutes, Director General de Palladium Hotel Group, and Martin Ribas, Director General of Endesa in the Balearic islands.
In the words of Reiner Hoeps. “Us rejoice greatly of the agreement reached with Endesa for the development of a network of cargo since early this year and thus ease the transition from combustion engine to electric vehicle”.
Abel Matutes, Director General de Palladium Hotel Group added: “Ibiza is, by its characteristics and dimensions, the perfect place to encourage the use of electric car (…) The fact of having charging points at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel provides easy access to our clients, which makes our commitment to sustainable mobility is absolute.”
To Martín Ribas, director general of Endesa in the Balearic islands “Endesa has an extensive experience in the development and management of facilities of fast charging for electric vehicles. First we start with the project Zem2all in Malaga and from 2015 in Mallorca we are working closely with the main rent-a-car to get to the tourist mobility to be more sustainable by supporting them with our network ecaR of rapid recharging infrastructure”.
The entrance to Ibiza will have a network of recharging the hand of Endesa and Smart first appears in Electric Mobility.
