The next 10 of August, Mitsubishi will present at the Auto Show in Indonesia, a new mpv with three rows of seats, developed to meet the specific needs of the region. It will be called Expander, will be based on the XM Concept presented last year and targets the Toyota Avanza.
Prior to the launch, the japanese firm is already showing some teasers with the final design, which by the looks of it, it will not be very different from the prototype. The front adopts traits in X similar to those of the Eclipse Cross, while the rear incorporates skulls of LED in the form of L. The silhouette is clearly that of a minivan, and, although at a glance it seems long, its dimensions have not been specified. The local media classified as a MPV as small as the Progresses.
The cabin will have place for seven passengers and will feature different elements of comfort, such as air conditioning, infotenimiento with touch screen, controls at the wheel, and electrical equipment. In terms of its mechanics, speaks of a block of 1.5 liters, associated to an automatic transmission CVT with manual shift and rear wheel drive.
The Mitsubishi Expander will be manufactured in Indonesia. Is likely to only be available in that region, however, considering the success of Advances in Mexico, and that Mitsubishi import Mirage and Dodge Attitude from Thailand, there is the remote possibility of seeing it circulating on our streets.
