History & Background

Karma Automotive was formed in 2014 when Chinese auto parts giant Wanxiang Group acquired the assets of bankrupt Fisker Automotive for $149.2M. Fisker's original Karma luxury PHEV was designed by Henrik Fisker and produced from 2011-2012. Wanxiang revived and updated the platform, launching the GS-6 as the brand's production vehicle. The company operates from a former Fisker facility in Moreno Valley, California.

Corporate Structure

Ownership & Corporate Structure

Karma Automotive Insurance Cost by Model

Full coverage estimates. Avg: ~$265/mo.

Model / TrimMonthlyAnnualvs Avg
GS-6 Base $225/mo $2,700/yr High MSRP; limited repair shops

GS-6 Plus $245/mo $2,940/yr Mid-trim; PHEV complexity factor
SC1 Vision $350+/mo $4,200+/yr Limited edition; agreed-value recommended

ⓘ Karma vehicles are expensive to insure — high MSRP, limited certified repair network, and Chinese ownership raise replacement part concerns for US insurers. PHEV system complexity adds to the risk profile.
