Overview
The 2025 GMC Acadia (3rd generation, redesigned 2024) is GMC's answer to the Chevrolet Traverse β a slightly smaller, more affordable 3-row crossover with GMC's premium interior treatment.
The 2024 Acadia redesign was well-received. It dropped the 7.2-foot length of the prior gen, making it more maneuverable. The AT4 off-road trim is a first for the Acadia nameplate.
2026 Trims & Pricing

Powertrain & Efficiency
EPA highway rating measured at 55 mph. Real-world highway at 70 mph is typically 25β27 mpg. Towing near max capacity reduces highway fuel economy 25β35% β budget accordingly for trailer trips.
The 2.0L turbo is right for daily commuters who want efficiency. The 3.6L V6 is for buyers who tow or want quicker response. Denali gets the V6 as standard.
Base 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder delivers 228 hp and 25/31 mpg β efficient for a 3-row SUV. Optional 3.6L V6 raises output to 288 hp and tow to 5,000 lb, though fuel economy drops to 19/27 mpg.
Interior & Capability
Both are GM 3-row mid-size SUVs. Traverse is larger (98.2 vs 79 cu ft cargo), has a bigger screen (17.7 vs 11 inch), and uses only the V6. Acadia is more affordable and offers the turbocharged four as a base option.
Three-row seating for 7 is standard. Max cargo reaches 79.0 cubic feet β less than the Traverse (98.2 cu ft) but adequate for most families. Second and third rows fold flat.
Tech & Features
The Denali Acadia is the entry point for Super Cruise in a GM mid-size SUV β giving hands-free highway capability at a more accessible price than the Traverse High Country.
An 11-inch LVDS touchscreen with Google built-in is standard on SLT+. Chevy Safety Assist (automatic emergency braking, lane-keep) is standard across all trims. Available Super Cruise on Denali.
Reliability
New 3rd-gen Acadia (2024+) has limited long-term data. The 2.0L turbo and 3.6L V6 are both proven GM engines. Early reliability reviews are positive.
| Area | Status | Notes |
