Mainstream American Car Brands
The mainstream segment is dominated by General Motors (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC) and Ford Motor Company, with Stellantis brands (Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, RAM) rounding out the Big Three. These brands collectively account for the vast majority of US vehicle sales.
American Luxury Car Brands
Cadillac is GM's flagship luxury brand and leads American EV luxury with the Lyriq and Celestiq. Lincoln is Ford's luxury arm. Both compete against European and Japanese luxury marques.
American Truck Brands
The Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and RAM 1500/HD are the four pillars of the American truck market — the most competitive and most profitable vehicle segment in the US. The Ford F-Series has been America's best-selling vehicle for 40+ consecutive years.
American Electric Vehicle Brands
All major American brands now offer at least one electric vehicle. Tesla remains the dominant EV brand by volume and charging infrastructure (45,000+ NACS Supercharger stalls). Rivian is the leading EV-native American truck brand.
Specialty & Performance Brands
America's performance tuner and low-volume manufacturer ecosystem — Shelby, Roush, Saleen, Callaway, Hennessey, SSC, Panoz, Karma, DeLorean revival, and Workhorse.
Commercial Truck Brands
American commercial trucking is dominated by PACCAR (Kenworth, Peterbilt), Daimler Truck North America (Freightliner), and Volvo Group (Mack) — with Freightliner holding the #1 US Class 8 market share position.
